In the film world, the assistants must have a willingness to
work with the director. They may be from the beginning of the project,
according to their interest. The person who make the exchange can participate
in many short films as an assistant in different areas
What is allowed and not allowed in the FAAP´s university short
films?
The rules are not rigid, but it is allowed the main team (6
jobs), looking for their own assistants, each department is responsible for
their own. The directors going to other class for proposing the project and
looking for help. They are supposed to be all active college students. They are
social networking groups are collaborative spaces and crowdfunding sites for

How does it work? (briefly) You make a video, it can be a
teaser where the project is explained, you must provide incentives for
donating, as an example give a thanks for sponsor in the credits, you must give
13% to Catarse of it donated, the people are allowed to donate by credit card,
the idea is that to each assistant donate to the project too. In our project

The shortfilms can be realized in film or digital. For
example, a cameraman assistant must be prepared to learn from a 16mm or 32mm
film , with its own tools of photography, to learn from many cameras, formats,
lenses and optical. The assistants are with the film ”ad honorem”, most students have money and buy cameras and lenses
indeed, they learn so much faster and easier. And in practice really much more
to learn in the classes of the technical part.
Finally, the Brazilian people is very quiet, no inquisitive
or imperative, all apparently to enter short from the first semesters know and
do and what not. I never saw fights or arguments contrary only cachaça, wine and redbull in projects.
Standards for realization of short films - filmmaking 6th
semester:
• It is not allowed that do not have screenplay between 6 and
10 minutes
• There can’t be accepted no original screenplay
• It is allowed are adapted from stories or chronic
• It is not allowed to be captured within FAAP´S study
(location)
Selection:
• With the dates, they are very strict and must be delivered
to each teacher a descriptive project with the script, the objectives, the
synopsis, etc.
• Selection parameters, creativity, coherence, student
engagement with the end of the film, feasibility, complexity of implementation
and the days needed for their record.
• A pitching will be carried out, it may have, references,
description of departments, real references the project or have a ”mostrinho”
(cut and paste videos from films that have the idea to show it)

• It is not allowed to remove equipment before 14h or after
17 hours.
• Each group is entitled to five days straight recording.
• Will be given three free cans (tape film) for FAPP ,if the
film is good FAAP also gives the TELECINE.
